对运动员的威胁，北京奥运以侵犯人权为其标志

赞助商、NBC应该和运动员站在一起反对迫害

(2022年2月2日，华盛顿特区) – 一个由运动员和人权组织组成联盟呼吁国际奥委会（IOC）和奥委会合伙组织及奥运赞助商，保障远动员在北京冬奥期间的自由表达权；无视中国政府针对维吾尔穆斯林和其他突厥社团暴行，及对图伯特、香港和大陆民众残酷镇压，2022北京奥运将于2月4日正式开幕。

“赞助北京2022冬季奥运赞助商不能假装这届奥运如以往正常，”运动员权力捍卫组织-全球运动员主任罗伯·克勒（ Rob Koehler） 说：“大公司赞助商说他们是在赞助运动员；然而运动员正在进入一个危机四伏工作环境之中国，运动员言论及表达反人类罪自由无任何保障；赞助商有义务向奥运主办方要求保障人权，而不是任其践踏。”

近期，北京奥运组委会一位高级官员发言是对抗议暴行之勇于表达运动员的微妙威胁：“任何违反奥运精神行为和言论，尤其是违反中国法规的，将受到相应惩处。”

“国际奥委会自愿附和中国政府为其自身而使批评者沉默的做法，令人无法接受，”维吾尔人权项目执行主任吾麦尔.卡纳特说。

国际奥委会有义务给予运动员在奥运期间表达权，包括利用新闻发布及社交媒体和传统媒体之表达权，然而， 国际奥委会导引声明示威抗议必须“遵守当地法规。”国际奥委会有义务保障运动员的言论自由，并确保任何运动员不因其使用言论权利而遭遇报复。

“运动员不应该到达中国后忧心其安全，”全球运动员董事会成员，两届奥运滑雪参赛者诺亚·霍夫曼（ Noah Hoffman）说：“运动员就人权及其他问题而审查自己言论是无法接受的——为了不被奥运主办方中国审查，或被遣送回家。”

“奥运会相关方必须在奥运期间履行人权义务，包括运动员的言论自由，”世界维吾尔代表大会项目和倡导主管 组姆热塔伊.艾尔肯（Zumretay Arkin） 说：“想要表达对维吾尔人、图伯特和香港人支持的运动员，应受到表彰，而不是惩罚。”

“运动员被中国政府用于宣传风险是存在的事实，现在他们面临失去抗议示威权力之危险，”自由图伯特学生运动主任佩妈.都妈（ Pema Doma ）说。

“国际奥委会的信誉，更准确点是他作为国际组织的合法性，在应对针对运动员威胁时，将面临考研，”前美国国务院民主、人权、劳工事务国务卿助理，结束维吾尔强制劳动执行委员会成员贝内特.弗里曼（ Bennett Freeman） 说。

奥运滑雪金牌获得者米凯拉·希夫林（ Mikaela Shiffrin） 说过 她不应该被迫在中国时在其“道德义务”和其竞赛“业务”中做选择。篮球运动员阿纳斯.坎特（ Enes Kanter ）发声谴责对图伯特人宗教和其他自由的迫害； 曾参加两届奥运跨国滑雪的前美国队运动员诺亚·霍夫曼在谈到前队友说：“我为他们在中国的安全感到忧心。”

“奥运伙伴”赞助商包括可口可乐、三星（ Samsung ）和爱彼迎（Airbnb ）经常 表达其对运动员的支持 ；然而，为显示真正意义上的支持，赞助商必须准备挑战北京组委会的威胁，而且在运动员遭遇报复和威胁时支持他们； 在运动员遭遇报复威胁时不予支持的失职，将使赞助商——和国际奥委会一起——成为北京组委会及中国政府侵犯人权的同案犯。

最后， 全球美国全国广播公司（NBC）——北京奥运在美国独家转播媒体——必须保障任何运动员因中国人权状况相关抗议不受中国政府审查；美国全国广播公司记者的信誉，将接受正全神贯注确保全面覆盖中国恶劣人权状况，且不成为中国政府宣传工具之观众和广告商的审查判断。

“言论自由权利是国际法中罪重要的人权，但中国人权捍卫者经常因表达其观点而被判刑入狱；国际奥委会和相关政府必须时刻准备保护可能成为中国政府受害者的运动员，”中国人权捍卫研究与倡导协调员威廉·尼（ William Nee）指出。
